I went a strange little theology journey.  Philosophical theology and biblical theology combined to form a path of "stepping stones."  One layer built on another layer.  And the conclusion was joy.  If you're in the mood for a little theology - then put your thinking caps on and enjoy!

Romans 15-16

Romans 14-15 (R12)

"Don't judge me!"  "Don't tempt me!"  Oh my.  Divisions threaten what is unified in Jesus.  Groups pitted against each other based on preferences.  Jesus calls for peace.  Hear all about it as we explore Romans 14-15 and learn more of how to live the 12:1-2 kind of life following Jesus.

Romans 13 (R11)

Romans 12:1-2 continues to guide us as the apostle Paul lists out several more practical examples of the outworking of that foundation truth in our lives.  Chapter 13.  Politics, love, and spiritual warfare.  Let's dive in.

Romans 12 (R10)

Chapters 1-11 laid the foundation.  So now the practical questions:  how then should we live?  If everything earlier in the letter to the Romans, then what is the practical application?  Romans 12-16 lays all that out.  Today we begin that journey of application in chapter 12.

Romans 11 (R9)

Part 2 of Paul addressing those thorny questions about Israel (Romans 9-11).  What about Israel?  Has God rejected the Jewish people?  Is Israel unredeemable?  Lots of challenging questions as the apostle Paul addresses the relationship between Gentiles, Jews, and Jesus.  In today's episode we conclude that journey thru chapter 11.

Romans 9-10 (R8)

The apostle Paul led us to a mountaintop of an experience in Romans 8.  1-8 was a breathtaking thorough laying out of Paul's gospel.  Now on to some practical questions.  What about Israel (chs 9-11)? and how should Christians live (chs 12-16)?  In this episode we dive into those ch 9 and 10 thorny questions about Israel.

Romans 8 (R7)

Mountain top experience!  God's presence!  God's temple!  God's kingdom!  The restoration, re-creation, redemption, and resurrection!  Hope!  Eternal life!  The whole good news of Jesus has been driving to this point in the letter.  Don't miss what the apostle Paul has to say to the congregation in Rome and to us today.  Romans 8.  Awesome.

Romans 6-7 (R6)

What does Israel's crossing of the Red Sea have to do with baptism?  What does the giving of the Torah mean?  Slaves to sin?  Slaves to Messiah Jesus?  What is our exodus and how are we set free?  So many questions!  Check out Romans 6-7.

Romans 5 (R5)

Jesus is Lord.  God created, but creation was corrupted.  Sin and death dominate humankind.  Abraham was called by faith to enter into a covenant relationship with God.  So how does Jesus - the new Adam - deal with the sin and death issues of the old Adam?  In this episode we explore Romans chapter 5.
